Antonia Matthew

Episode 1,000 of The Poets Weave will feature Antonia Matthew reading “Rabbit Mysteries” and
other poems with spring themes. Matthew has lived in Bloomington since 1968 and has been a
part of the Five Women Poets writing workshop for 39 years. She has been published in small
magazines, self-published a chapbook on her mother’s Alzheimer’s, and has written a play about
her experiences as a child in World War II England.

About The Poets Weave

The Poets Weave is a weekly five-minute program of poetry reading hosted by Bloomington-
based poet Romayne Rubinas Dorsey, a senior lecturer at Indiana University.

The Poets Weave was created in 2006 by Jenny Kander, who produced and hosted the program
until 2009. After moving from South Africa to Bloomington in 1992, Kander promised herself
that she would take poetry classes—something she never had time for previously. This began her
influence in the Bloomington community as the “poetry lady,” a title she says she adores.
