For the February Open Mic we would like to Black poets in honor of Black History Month! It’s also the Team Finals. The winners will represent Bloomington at a national competition.
Asia Calcagno is a poet, performer, and educator from Chicago. Her poetry has been featured in The Golden Shovel Anthology, Poetry, Smartish Pace, Hartskill Review, and Learn Then Burn 2. She has been awarded the Beullah Rose Poetry Prize, the Benjamin T. Marshall Poetry Prize, and the Charles B. Palmer Poetry Prize from the Academy of American Poets. Asia is an MFA student at Bennington College.
