ANNETTE SISSON is from the Hoosier state but has lived in Nashville, TN since 1988. She has published poems in Birmingham Poetry Review, Rust and Moth, The Citron Review, The Lascaux Review, Typishly, One, and many other journals. Her book Small Fish in High Branches was released by Glass Lyre Press in May 2022—her chapbook, A Casting Off, by Finishing Line in 2019. She has recently completed a new book of poems entitled Scions and is seeking a publisher. She was a Mark Strand Scholar for the 2021 Sewanee Writers’ Conference and 2020 BOAAT Writing Fellow. Her poems have received several nominations for Best of the Net and won The Porch Writers’ Collective’s 2019 poetry prize. SOLEIL DAVÍD is a poet, writer, and translator who moved from the Philippines to the United States at age seventeen. Her work has appeared or is forthcoming in Two Lines, The Cincinnati Review, Cream City Review, and Ulirát: Best Contemporary Stories in Translation from the Philippines, among others. She received a BA from UC Berkeley and an MFA from Indiana University, and has received support from PEN America, VONA, and Bread Loaf Translators’ Conference. She is the senior editor in translation at AAWW and lives in Washington, D.C., with her partner and their dog named Balut.
C.S. MATHEWS is the coauthor of Fearful Architecture and editor for The Grindstone Magazine, as well as the cover artist for many a book. Having cut her teeth as an independent journalist and medic during the 2020 protests, their work focuses heavily on activism, their indigeneity, trauma, and her experiences being transgender.
Guitarist and songwriter JASON FICKEL creates music that connects the heart and soul of the blues with country music’s wry chronicles of loss and longing. A long-time member of the Bloomington music community, he has performed with the Firehouse Rounders (WFHB’s Firehouse Follies house band), Jason & Ginger, and the VLF Trio.
The Writers Guild at Bloomington fosters equity, diversity and inclusivity.
