Allen Ginsberg Centenary Film Screenings
The Writers Guild at Bloomington presents free film screenings at the Herman B Wells Library and the Monroe County Public Library to celebrate the Allen Ginsberg centennial. Curators for this film screening series: Dr. Joan Hawkins and Tony Brewer.
Chappaqua (1967, 82 min., dir. Conrad Rooks)
Based on Comrad Rooks’ experiences with drug addiction and includes cameo appearances by William S. Burroughs, Swami Satchidananda, Allen Ginsberg, Moondog, Ornette Coleman, The Fugs, and Ravi Shankar, who composed the score.
