JOHN BURROUGHS of Cleveland is the 2022-2023 U.S. Beat Poet Laureate. He also served for two years as Ohio’s Beat Poet Laureate. Burroughs is the author of Rattle & Numb: Selected and New Poems, 1992-2019 (2019, Venetian Spider Press) and almost twenty poetry chapbooks. He has also curated several regular reading series in the Greater Cleveland area. Since 2008, he has served as the founding editor of Crisis Chronicles Press, publishing over 120 titles by vital independent voices from across the U.S. and beyond. Find him at crisischronicles.com.
JOAN HAWKINS is Professor of Cinema and Media Studies at IU Bloomington. She has written extensively on horror and the avant-garde, and is best known for her books Cutting Edge: Art Horror and the Horrific Avant-garde, and the noir memoir School & Suicide. Her creative work has also appeared in Sand, The Ryder, Avalanches of Poetry, Fevers of the Mine and n+1. She lives in Bloomington, Indiana with her cat.
