Coffee with Friends

Presented by Friends of the Library

Monroe County Public Library

Join us for a conversation with author Briah O’Neal and illustrator Taylor O’Neal,
two Bloomington teenagers who teamed up to create.

Serve It to Me, Too!

It is an illustrated story of a young girl named Deja discovering her newfound interest and athletic abilities in tennis.
Her journey explores the importance of courage, hard work, and the benefits of inclusion and diversity in junior sports.

The O’Neal sisters will sign books following the talk.

Discussion will be facilitated by Alicia Harmon

Harmon is a junior majoring in interdisciplinary sociology/African American and African Diaspora Studies
and minoring in creative writing, Spanish, and psychology. Along with being an intern for the IU Writers’ Conference,
she is a columnist with Indiana Daily Student Black Voices.
This Friends of the Library program is part of the 2022 Power of Words initiative bringing author Jacqueline Woodson
to Bloomington for a talk at the Buskirk-Chumley Theater
on February 5, 2022.
