In celebration of National Poetry Month and also of the 15-year anniversary of Women Writing for (a) Change Bloomington, the WWf(a)C organization will host “An Evening of Poetry, featuring Indiana State Poet Laureate Adrian Matejka and Others” on Friday, April 5, 2019. An award-winning poet who teaches at Indiana University, Matejka was named state poet laureate in 2017 and will serve in the role until 2019.

The reading featuring Matejka will open with a small reception. The event, which coincides with April’s First Friday Gallery Walk, will spotlight Matejka’s poetry, followed by a brief moderated conversation with the poet. The evening also will showcase local poets representing Indiana University, Ivy Tech, The Writer’s Guild, and Women Writing for (a) Change.

This event is free and open to the public.
