Abegunde is a Memory Keeper who chooses to forget that words have limits. She 
chooses to remember – and live by – the words of a 5th grade student: Poetry can change the world. As a result, she spends her days and dream time chanting silenced memories into spoken histories. On the weekdays, when she isn’t birthing new words out of sound and images, she shapeshifts into an IU professor of African American and African Diaspora Studies and Graduate Mentoring Center director.
Susan Amis is a writer and aspiring Limnologist from Minneapolis, MN currently pursuing her MFA at Indiana University. She enjoys poetry quite a bit.
Emily Corwin is an MFA candidate in poetry at Indiana University-Bloomington and the Poetry Editor for Indiana Review. Her writing has appeared or is forthcoming in Gigantic Sequins, glitterMOB, Hobart, smoking glue gun, and Word Riot. Her chapbook My Tall Handsome was recently published through Brain Mill Press. JL Kato‘s poetry collection, Shadows Set in Concrete, chronicles the life of a Japanese immigrant in Indiana. It was selected the 2011 Best Book of Indiana by Indiana Center for the Book. Kato’s poems have appeared in Paterson Literary Review, Tipton Poetry Journal, Raintown Review, and So It Goes. He is poetry editor of Flying Island, the online literary journal of the Indiana Writers Center. He also serves as president of Brick Street Poetry Inc., a nonprofit group that advocates for poetry in public places.
Greg Buse and Rebecca Keith form American Standard— a folk duo that enjoys singing everything from contemporary indie folk to classic tunes from the ‘70s and ‘80s to original material written by Greg. Although they met in 2002, they didn’t start performing together until 2013. Both have positions at Indiana University, families, and other activities that keep them busy, but one day plan to take their music on the road.
